More than any other officer he believed strongly that innovation was key to success in the field. After being promoted to captain on the 9th of February 1837 he directly over saw the second American steam ship built the U.S.S Fulton. A side wheel steamer, the project was completed on December 13 1837 and went on to conduct missions in the Atlantic. Unfortunately this did not get that much press until on November 23 1838 a contest was created to test both the speed of the Fulton and the newly created steam ship the British H.M.S Great Western. The Fulton beat the Great Western in New York harbor.
In 1836, he resigned and went to work, as a superintendent, in a place called the West Point Foundry. He then spent his time trying to better a rifled cannon. Even though it took him around 40 years, he patented a way new way to put a band on the breech of the gun tube. This made the rifled cannon by making it easier to use. In 1861, Parrott also patented 10-pounder, 20-pounder, and 30-pounder guns.
Muddy waters, or McKinley Morganfield son of Ollie Morganfield and Bertha Jones was a well-known Blues Musician, guitarist born in Issaquena County, Mississippi. Waters father was a farmer who played the blues guitar and his mother sadly died when McKinley was only three years old. Upon his mother’s death McKinley was sent to live with his grandmother Delia Jones in Clarksdale, Mississippi. While living in Clarksdale with his grandmother, McKinley enjoyed playing in the mud it was then he was dubbed Muddy Waters. When Waters was five years old his grandmother gifted him a Harmonica, it was with the harmonica that his exceptional career in Mississippi blues music began.
The Omaha Storm Chasers are a Minor League Baseball team founded just outside of Omaha, Nebraska in the city of Papillion. Due to the Storm Chasers being located in a high population, such as Omaha, the team can interest a larger community of fans that most Minor League teams can’t do. This outstanding Minor League team is affiliated as the Triple-A organization for none other than the defending World Series champions the Kansas City Royals, and has been affiliated with the Royals since 1969, giving the fans of the Royals a team to cheer for in Nebraska. The Storm Chasers play their games at the beautiful Werner Park, a place that provides wholesome entertainment and quality baseball games for the thousands of fans watching. This ballpark can hold up to 9,000 thrilled fans, also this unique park has a grass berm seating section in the outfield area, making the experience a little different than a regular ball game.
When he was a child he helped his father design canals. As a teenager he joined the Swedish battle and because of his engineering skills, he advanced to the position of lieutenant. He later left the war and traveled to England in 1826. While there he continued designing and engineering things and earning the respect of those around him. When he left England, he found himself in New York, where he worked with Captain Robert Stockton and constructed the USS Princeton.

The Rainmakers are an original rock band from Kansas City. They came out with a string of hits in the late 1980s and early 1990s in the U.S. and Europe. This bar band still performs.

Although it was hard work and he wanted to expand the business he was very satisfied with the sales of his guns but he was also very unhappy because of the fact that the constant production chores and the long vigorous daily work that made it hard for him to work on his new ideas. Ray Bradbury’s “There Will Come Soft Rains,” tells the story of a self-regulating house that is all that is left of the world. Through the use of diction, the reader is able to understand the shifts in tone throughout the story. In the beginning of the story, we are introduced to the house. Bradbury uses terms such as “ruined city,” “radioactive glow,” and “rubble and ashes,” (Bradbury 1) effectively creating a dark and forlorn atmosphere. The author’s word choice creates an image in the reader’s mind of how desolate the house’s surroundings are, ultimately contributing to the somber tone.
Tornadoes are the most violent storms ever. They have caused deaths of many people. Then they also destroyed many buildings and acres of land. Many people are not friends with tornadoes as they sometimes destroy someone's business, and lead people's careers to an end. Also some people are just unlucky, because the country they live might have a lot of tornadoes.
