The boy had turned into a bear and started to chase after his sisters. The sisters found refuge from a great tree and rose them up into the sky until they eventually became the stars of the Big Dipper (Momaday
The night was cold and with every gust of wind someone shivered. The stars were bright enough to light up the night even without the bright full moon in the sky. I was standing in my normal spot in a short alleyway with a line of five
There are many stars in the sky, but most are mostly visible at night. The quote, “…only when it is dark enough can you see the stars.” by Martin Luther King, Jr. reveals that when a person is exposed enough to the dark things in their life, they are able to appreciate and grow stronger. This relates to the book A Long Walk To Water by Linda Sue Park, which is about a boy named Salva being exposed to a new environment that holds experiences that he wasn’t exposed to before. While a girl named Nya struggles to support her family.
The night was fraught of laughter and warm conversations that I could not believe took years to eventually come to. By the end of the night, my mouth was tired from smiling the entire time. All in all, I had a great a time. Mind you, I have not seen these friends in ages – literally ages. However, there’s a reason for that.
[Although hope was broken and torn by the years of darkness, remarkably, some still remained./] And though there was little left, hope still remained. --- The twilight was noiseless, but for the dampened sound of my? feet moving swiftly through the grass.
The Renaissance was a beautiful period, with beautiful pieces of artwork to the beautiful melodies in songs, the Renaissance is truly a time to remember. Many famous pieces of work and their artists came from this period, artists such as Michelangelo, van Eyck and da Vinci. Leonardo da Vinci is most famous for his piece called the Mona Lisa. Art is filled with diversity and different opinions, but how did da Vinci’s artwork influence the Renaissance period? The Renaissance period was from 1400 to 1600 BCE and was a very creative time in history.
I had just arrived at our small lake cabin, ready to go to bed. When I woke up the next day, I did my normal routine, eat, brush my teeth, comb my hair, and get dressed. With nothing to do at sunrise, I head outside, hoping to go on an adventure. But with no luck on a gloomy day I just ended up playing catch with my cousin. About 5 minutes later, my dad walked out, watching us play catch in the misty morning.
The rest of the day was spent in solitary. That night I did manage to get what some would call sleep, but it was far from pleasant. At first, all I could see was a thick veil of darkness. Then I began hearing crying in the distance, like a lost soul adrift in the abyss of darkness. Then it cut off abruptly, only a suspended echo remaining.
It was a cold night, the moon peeking out from behind the clouds. Fireflies twinkled through the sky like stars, the only color in the gray scale forest. A young boy, Dipper as he went by, chased after them, laughing merrily, either not noticing that the world was only grays and blacks, or just not caring. He stopped, a slight smile on his face as he cupped his hands. He made a tiny crack, and peeked through to see if he was lucky enough to score one of the tiny lights.
I watched as the big fiery ball climbed above everything else. It shot out orangish-red rays from all direction and made the town brighter. As lovely as the morning was I knew that today wouldn't be horrible. I could only watch from down here, the beautiful shining star.
When a dream is oppressed, and left to decay, it will either rot and subside or erupt with new life. These questions are somber suggestions, prompting the reader to consider how a dream may “dry up like a raisin in the sun?” or begin to “fester like a sore?” when postponed. There is a repetition of rhetorical questions and metaphors throughout the poem, suggesting many possibilities, and this pressures the reader to consider every outcome being presented.
Through the poem’s tone, metaphors used, and symbols expressed the poem portrays that fear can make life seem charred or obsolete, but in reality life propels through all seasons and obstacles it faces. The poem begins with a tone of conversation, but as it progresses the tone changes to a form of fear and secretiveness. The beginning and ending line “we tell
Have you ever wondered if there were eyes watching you? Well, I, Bailey Sea, suffer from hallucinations (seeing things that aren’t there). I see eyes in the shadows that could really be there, but when I point them out, other people think I’m crazy. They tease me because what I see isn’t real. I sometimes can’t handle the teasing because it’s constant!
My mom and my grandma followed close behind, most likely enjoying my uncharacteristically excessive confidence, which they hadn’t seen before. I had an affinity for the city. It made me feel like I belonged, like I wasn’t alone. An accumulation of my dreams was happening before my eyes.
