Ever so often we are faced with the horrendous acts humankind is capable of. The Lord of the Flies written by William Golding is a fictional book about a group of british school boys who get stranded on an island which showcases the savagery we are all capable of. They lose their civility and become savages, and as a result some die such as Simon, Piggy and the boy with the birthmark. Until they are saved at last by a naval officer. All in all Ralph’s poor leadership and Jack’s unrestrained brutality were the ultimate reason for the islands demise.

Piggy, who has Asthma, is also a little chubby and big. Because of this, he is always made fun of. Ralph, Piggy’s friend and the Chief of the tribe, tries to protect Piggy.

In William Golding’s novel, The Lord of the Flies, a plane carrying British boys is shot down over the Pacific. Many of the boys survive the crash, the pilot does not, and they find themselves stranded on a deserted island stranded with no adult supervision. On the island the boys recreate the culture they left behind by electing a leader named Ralph. Another character, Jack who wants to be a leader, slowly drives the boys from civilization and many rules to savagery which causes the death of two main characters, Piggy and Simon.

This is ironic because if they were on the island they would probably set fire to something in the time that they’re there. In addition to that they lose kids a lot.
In a life-or-death situation, it is most important to have mental strength because of logical conclusions, prior survival knowledge, and leadership. Having these allows you to make choices that are smarter and allow you to get things done faster. Also, having that leadership skill allows you to lead others and have confidence in darker times.
