In the book, The 5th wave, there are many events that occur. The author, Rick Yancey, is an independent author who writes about extraterrestrial beings, survival, and war. The main character Cassie is one of the survivors of the 1st wave, 2nd wave, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. She goes on to explain how that went for her, and how she felt in her situation. Being a lone teenager who cannot trust anyone without the chance of death, she constantly felt like she just might be the last human to live on the earth. Aliens were taking over the earth, and taking over the minds and lives of anyone in their way. Cassie was to fight her way to survive, with seemingly no hope of survival in the end. She survived the waves, and she did what nobody could really do. She had nearly no hope, yet hope had her. She fought and killed at the chance of death, but with remorse in the end after realizing some weren’t really actually against her. One person she thought had a gun, in which the glint she saw that she assumed was a knife or gun was really a necklace with a cross on it; but that is what the Others caused. The others was the name for the extraterrestrial beings. The Others caused humans to go against each other in fear that they might die. In the fourth wave, the others used mind games and took over humans which is why they couldn’t trust each other. They had practically no chance of knowing who really was trustworthy and still 100% human. It didn’t matter whether they were your family or closest friend; you’d be risking your life just for that chance. Losing your life just isn’t worth that chance when it’s a situation that is similar to those end of the world scenarios. If you did choose
