Susan Rusev returns to school in her adulthood. Married to her best friend and husband. A mother of three grown children, no grandchildren yet, but a granny to two dogs, and four cats. She works full time at the Illinois Federation of Teachers, supports the organizing department for 15 years. She compares life with school you’re taught a lesson and then given a test, in life you’re given a test that teaches you a lesson.
Susan makes time to give back to her community, as a young girl growing up, always relish around people. After school, she and her twin sister and friends would go to the neighborhood nursing home and help assist passing out food trays to the residents for their dinner hour. Then stay and visit and talk to her favorite residents. Joining girl’s scouts in 1st grade and continuing to 7th grade, volunteering and helping people is a portion of the Girl Scout’s pledge. When she became a Mother, she volunteered and became the Girl Scout leader for her girl’s troop, for six years. Now she volunteers in politics, by assisting in phone banking for local, state, national elections. Therefore, aiming upon completing school to become a volunteer at the CASA of Kane County, with a Social Work education background.
