Why Is Music Important In Animated Films

In the scene where Mike and Sully are rolling down the snowy hill, a fast paced song begins to play. It gradually increases in tempo, all the while crescendoing up to the scene in which the abominable snowman appears to greet them. Ultimately, being a pleasant outcome, this music sounded as if it was written in a major key. Although the music in this scene lasted ten seconds at max, it was still important to building suspense, and leaving the audience to guess what would occur next. Music is an important factor in animated films because it builds suspense and has it’s own way of foreshadowing what’s to come. Music’s role in animation can also be to set the scene , which I came to realize in Monsters’ inc. For example, when Mike and Sully
