The evidence will show that the State's main witness, Jay Wilds, who was allegedly involved in the aiding of the victims murder, is an unreliable witness. Jay’s testimony has many inconsistencies and misleading information. During Jay’s interrogation with the police, he changes multiple parts of his story. The following are a few of the modifications the witness made, one Jay states to have refused to help in the digging of the victims grave but later reforms his story and states he did. Two, Jay told police Adnan informed him about his plan to murder Ms. Lee the day the murder occurred but later alters his story and says Adnan had frequently mentioned killing her.
The first lens in this long write is author’s craft by finding goals and techniques in the book. The first place I saw this was when the author used the technique of description to accomplish the goal of introducing the characters. Thesis: The effective use of literary elements are crucial to enhance the understand of readers and provide them with the suspense that the author intends to create by reading the story. Every successful and effective story possess certain qualities, which when put together result in an enticing, suspense filled story. When used skillfully, these literary elements produce some of the world’s most renowned works. “Just Lather, That’s All” is no different.
In “The Pit and the Pendulum”, the author manages to incorporate suspense into several parts of this story. One example is where it states, “I was sick—sick unto death with that long agony; and when they at length unbound me, and I was permitted to sit, I felt that my senses were leaving me. The sentence—the dread sentence of death—was the last of distinct accentuation which reached my ears. After that, the sound of the inquisitorial voices seemed merged in one dreamy indeterminate hum.” This shows how the author created suspense by not telling the reader about why the narrator was receiving a death sentence.
Evidence need to be put up by the author to prove his/her claim from his end as well. 4) Is support based on analysis of the readings? a. Does the evidence used from the reading set support the position?. NO b. Is it clear how quotes/paraphrases are being used?
A small detail like: “Roger sharpened a stick at both ends”(190) may not seem like it would add tension, but as the passage goes on the details begin to paint a picture that keeps an air of suspense. What would Roger do the stick? “That little’ un that had a mark on his face - where is - he now? I tell you I don’t see him” (46). This creates tension by getting the reader to worry about the kid and to question what happened to him.
This passage from Dalton Trumbo’s novel Johnny Got His Gun shows a relationship between a father and son through a seemingly small and insignificant series of events. The short story depicts a father and his son on their annual fishing trip. The son decides that he wants to go fishing with his friend instead of his father for a change however, is very hesitant to ask. The author’s use of techniques such as point of view, selection of detail, and syntax in this passage helps to better characterize the relationship between the father and his son in a deeper and more thorough way.
In my opinion, the presented evidence in regard to the claim and reasons are valid. Not only is the used evidence valid, but it is relevant and sufficient as well. As previously stated,

The mood of the story was spine-chilling and mystifying. The name of the island, “Ship-Trap” Island, itself gives off a daunting vibe to the reader. The author wanted his audience to feel as if they were there themselves which is why he added so many details. The details narrow the imagery in the audience’s heads to help them better grasp the plot in the story. If the author hadn’t been so descriptive in the story, we wouldn’t have been able to envision what the island was
The shows I listened to were Suspense and Dark Fantasy. Suspense was a CBS radio drama that ran from 14942 to 1962 and Dark Fantasy was a short lived suspense/thriller anthology series that debut on WKY, a radio station based on Oklahoma, and then played on Fridays nights on NBC stations. The series lasted from 1941-1942. Suspense and Dark Fantasy both presented mysterious, suspenseful and dramatic content meant to enthrall and entertain audiences, Suspense was even considered a part of the “golden age of radio” and featured the most popular Hollywood actors and actresses of its time. I was not only captivated by the content, but I thoroughly enjoyed the flexibility it gave me.
Literary Genres, the definition is in the name. A type of writing that runs on nothing but one’s imaginations and in some cases worst fears. It is created to give the readers a type of escape from the real world, and keeps them up through through the night flipping pages until they are finally finished the novel. Within literary genres comes a couple fan favourites, the Horror Genre, and the Romance Genre. The two tend to alternate reality in a way that creates a fantasy, or nightmare for us living in the novels of each genre.
