The book Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes is about a fourteen-year-old boy with an entertaining story. The book gives you a variety of lens to think and write about as Jonny’s story unfolds. In the book and in this long write there are three bigger, more in depth lens that stood out more. Those topics are author's craft, character traits and, characters relationship. The first lens in this long write is author’s craft by finding goals and techniques in the book. The first place I saw this was when the author used the technique of description to accomplish the goal of introducing the characters. The evidence supporting that is when Johnny said “It was he who owned this great wharf, the ware houses, many of the ships tied up along it. He owned …show more content…

The next character that had a relationship with Johnny is Rab. Rab and Johnny have the best relationship in the book because Rab is the only character that believes in Johnny. Rab shows this when Johnny says “what will I do”, Rab said to him “You’ve got twenty days to practice log splitting and then you’ll open chests”. This shows that they have a good relationship because even when Johnny is doubtful Rab believes that he can do it. The last person with a relationship with Johnny is Isannah.
