Night Essay Symbolism is a very creative and different thing. When we did musicals in Elementary school we had characters that symbolized different people and or characters. In the novel Night, there were many uses of symbolism. In this essay we will go over the use of fire, the description of Juliek’s violin and Elie’s use of the corpse as symbolism. Juliek was playing her violin in the pitch black and what was symbolized was as when she was playing it was as if her soul was the bow. Another detail was the violin corpse. The corpse was Elie having humility from his life. My last concrete detail is the violin. The music is played so beautifully it has a meaning and it symbolizes the bodies, the Jews and the spirits. My last topic of symbolism is the corpses. The corpses symbolized a lot of things. They symbolized death life sadness. The babies in the ditch symbolized death. They were being thrown into a fiery ditch. Another detail is Elie’s soup. It was nasty and tasted like corpses. It was not a fresh soup taste. It tasted like death to him. My last concrete detail is himself looking at himself in the mirror. He looks like a dead body he feels dead inside. That is what is symbolized there. To conclude everything let’s review everything.
