The Outsiders have countless songs that can relate to the characters we meet. The book “The Outsiders” is a realistic fiction novel written by S.E. Hinton. These songs are, “Death Around the Corner” by 2pac for Johnny, “Don’t Cry” by Guns N’ Roses for Soda-pop, and “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood” by The Animals for Dallas. To begin, “Death Around the Corner” is a song by 2pac that speaks about his paranoia with death, which can be associated with Johnny. First, the lyric “I see death around the corner, any day”. Trying to keep it together” can be associated with Johnny because he’s so on edge. One quote is “And Johnny now carried in his pocket a six-inch switchblade.” (Hinton, 34).
