If you’ve ever wondered how the United States was built up from the ground, just know it was the same people who try their hardest to come here illegally. This might sound hard to believe but according to Source 2, “America was founded by citizens from all over the world who were unsatisfied with their home country and sought better opportunity for freedom and wealth in the New World.” That sounds much like what illegal immigrants do, doesn’t it? Immigrants are needed to help the U.S. and to help their people. The article states that “Immigration is of special significance to Hispanics about half of whom are immigrants themselves, according to the pool” (Jones 5). To elaborate, half of the immigrants in America now are Hispanics which shows that a lot of Hispanics rely on immigration to build a better life/family. Opponents will argue that immigrants will come and sell drugs, commit crimes, or ruin the economy. Instead, lots of immigrants come to work. Much like from the text “People coming from Mexico or other poor countries will often be thrilled to get any kind of work, especially one that pays minimum wage rate. Moreover, this is good for the economy since most American citizens don’t want a minimum wage job and immigrants can help their families and home country by receiving any kind of job. Immigrants need a pathway to citizenship as they are supported and liked by some government officials and are important to their race.
