• Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disorder that can affect any organ in the body. Symptoms range from mild to severe. SLE most commonly is found in women and of those of African American descent. Due to the immune system failing it causes inflammation and damage to many body tissues. Currently, there is no cure for lupus although with drugs people can be just as healthy. Skin lesions can also develop due to prolong sun exposure.

The skin is affected because lupus can cause rashes and lesions on the skin. This is also why the sun can make lupus worse. Many people with lupus also experience muscle pain which affects the musculoskeletal system. This can cause weakness and loss of strength for the patient. Lupus affects the nervous system through neurological dysfunction.

• The body cavity is associated with SLE is the dorsal and vertebral.

• Complete blood count or differential could reveal problems such as leukopenia, mild anemia, and/or thrombocytopenia.
• Renal dysfunction could be detected by elevated serum creatinine. .
• Urinalysis with urine sediment may revel hematuria, pyuria, proteinuria, and/or cellular casts.
• All of these are symptoms of lupus and get confirmed by these tests.
