Tablets Should Replace School Textbooks Technology is a big aspect within our lives today. We as a society have become dependent on the ease in attaining knowledge that technology has given us. Many see this as a bad thing, but it is not. We are now able to access any knowledge at our figure tips, so why not rely on this advantage in the education world. Replacing textbooks with tablets, smartboards, and other technologies have already made their way into classroom. This debate on whether or not they should replace textbooks has been going on for a long time, and since schools are already making the transition it won’t end anytime soon. Replacing textbooks with tablets is not only a smart move for both students and educations it is also inevitable, like it or not, the tablet device is invading traditional school. Incorporating tablets into the school structure has many benefits, one of those being that tablets can hold up to hundreds to thousands of textbooks as well as other provisions that are needed for an education. “The average tablet contains anywhere from 8 to 64 gigabytes (GB) of storage space on the Amazon Kindle fire, for instance, 1,000 books take up one GB of space.” (Price). When buying textbooks, a main concern is the room you may or may not have for that textbook.
