As a society this relates to social blindness because if enough people do something dumb, other people follow because they don’t want to stand out or be punished. This advances to social anxiety, a lot of people struggle with this because of peer pressure and the fear of standing out. In the episode of Brain Games about peer pressure, the people have no clue what's going on, so they just follow what everyone's doing, without asking questions. This relates back to a socially blind society because people move into or are born into a society not knowing how it works. They don’t ask questions, they just go with the flow and get brainwashed.

Ultimately, the human heart seeks comfort and familiarity. The great unknown strips away this feeling of safety, leading to a vulnerability that draws the true nature of a person into the harshness of reality. Unfamiliar environments, newly met strangers, the imminent and all-too-unpredictable future--these things generally incite feelings of insecurity and anxiety; for some, panic accompanies the thought of not having control. Some avoid matters of fear altogether, opting for a life softened with intentional ignorance. It is the fatal tendency of mankind to manipulate their troubles into trivial tasks that can easily be ignored and eventually forgotten, or at the very least, left to the side.

Every day, in our life we learn new things, from school, friends and by ourselves. Take an example of me, my transformative educational experience had thought me skills that I can use for my rest of my life career. However, Frank Bruni said in his statement that “if a person wants to do something in his life, then he/she can start with little experience”. Throughout the year, I gain more knowledge of the world we live in and become aware of my career.
One deranged aspect of society is the way citizens go about their lives everyday. People tend to go through their days the same every single day. Day after day, their routines are the exact same. They get up in the morning, go to work, and then come home. No one tries changing the way they live, because this plain routine is all that they know.
Technology’s Creates Laziness and Dependency In the world today, people are likely to use extensive amounts of technology in their day-to-day lives. Imagine being stuck in what seems to be the middle of nowhere. The initial response most are compelled to is to pick up their phone to find directions. If we do not experience different things, then we become stagnant and will not grow in our everyday lives. It becomes very important to recognize when there is a need for change. When our lives plateau or we recognize that there is a need to improve in some way, then we need to take the necessary steps to make us happy and satisfied. While it is important to learn how to handle different situations, there are many times where we don’t necessarily desire change. There are times when we have no control over what is happening in our lives.
Because of the limited knowledge and memory of citizens, they can’t enjoy a real relationship. People do not understand the value of relationships, so they go through life being selfish, because they do not understand how to live any differently. (SIP-B) The lack of conflict within the society causes people to stop thinking, and caring about their society, and they become lazy. (STEWE-1)

Change is inevitable. At some point in everyone’s life, they will experience change which will be a turning point in their life. A common change is moving homes and transitioning into a new society. Living somewhere for your whole life in which you call ‘home’ is comforting and safe. Having to leave that safety blanket and beginning a new life can be intimidating and frightening.
