Since the beginning of time women have been overlooked in terms of smarts and work ethic. In today’s society women are being stereotyped as: a housewife, a teenage mother, a prostitute and many other frustrating stereotypes. If there weren’t any women around, the first mission to the moon would not have happen with the help of NASA engineer Katherine Johnson. Men think that women are supposed to be trophy wives and look perfect all of the time. Women did not spend almost one hundred years fighting for voting rights, workers’ rights and equality in society. Kate Middleton serves as a prime example of a woman who shows; grace, compassion, dignity, and honor. Kate is an influential person because she carries herself with dignity, honor, duty, and modest when it comes to the public eye. Since her introduction to the world in November of 2010, Kate has been given the title of “Media Darling” across the globe. Kate has been in the media for about six years, her marriage to Prince William has had several similarities to her late mother-in-law’s wedding to Prince Charles in 1981. Since becoming the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate has been involved with several charities that involve children, people with mental health and various others. I chose Kate Middleton because I view her as a role model to young women everywhere. The stereotypical royal is perceived as snobbish and see the lower class as beneath them. Kate is the opposite; she takes every opportunity she can get to mingle with the common folk when she is not busy with her royal duties. The fact that she is from a middle class family gives makes people feel good knowing that a “commoner” such as Kate can become a royal.
