Another key aspect to Ciskszentmihalyi’s theory would be consciousness. Consciousness refers to the ability to assimilate sensations from the environment with one’s goals in order to guide behavior (Partridge, 2009,174). Consciousness is as stated previously, a key aspect to the flow theory. In order to be completely immersed in an activity, one must be able to integrate these direct qualitative experiences from the environment surrounding the individual with the activity which is taking place. Ciskszentmihalyi states that “ a person can make himself happy or miserable, regardless of what is actually happening ‘outside’, just by judging the contents of consciousness” ( Ciskszentmihalyi 1990,2). The ability to be able to look at what may seem …show more content…

Part of understand the flow theory is understanding how the brain functions during this process. The first lobe is the frontal lobe, this lobe is located at the front of the skull. This lobe is responsible for the following functions: problem solving, spontaneity, memory, language, motivation, judgement, impulse control, social and sexual behaviors. Flow involves concentration in order to become completely lost with in a activity. This lobe helps with focus. Depending on the activity the individual is preforming, the frontal lobe could be involved in addition to other lobes. The next lobe would be the temporal lobe. This lobe works with emotions as well as your senses. For example; smelling , tasting, perception, memory, music understanding , aggressiveness and sexual behavior all take place in the temporal lobe. This lobe also has a place that contains the language area. This lobe helps with taking in the sensations as well as processing them during the flow experience. The next lobe that helps with the flow experience is the parietal lobe. This lobe also plays a role in an individuals sensations of touch, smell and even taste. The parietal lobe also processes sensory …show more content…

The hypothalamus is important to the reproduction system as well. The reproduction system relies on the hormones which the hypothalamus releases. In order to completely understand how the hypothalamus assists with the reproduction system, we must first understand the anatomy and the physiology of the reproduction system. The organs of the reproduction system are each adapted for specialized tasks. The female reproduction system is slightly more complex than the male reproduction system. The reproduction system has both internal and external organs. The first organ is the uterus. The uterus is a hollow organ that has a pear shape. It is located between the bladder and the rectum and is held in place by ligaments. The uterus has two main functions: menstruation and during a pregnancy, it receives the fertilized ovum and nourishes it. The Uterus has four main components: the corpus, fundus, cervix, and isthmus (Vera,2012 P1).The main part of the uterus is called the corpus of the body. The fundus is the rounded region above the entrance of the fallopian tubes. The cervix is the narrow outlet which protrude in to the vigina. The isthmus is a constricted portion which connects the cervix to the corpus (Vera, 2012 p1). The walls of the uterus are composed of three layers: the endometrium, the myometrium, and the perimetrium (Vera,2012,p1). The endometrium is the inner layer of the wall; a fertilized egg
