The Risks of Tattoo Ink
Tattoo ink many times do not permanently look as great as they did on the first day you had it done due to many reasons. “The body cells may digest and destroy the ink, just as they rid the body of bacteria and other foreign matter as a defense against infection. NCTR studies show that a common pigment used in yellow tattoo inks, Pigment Yellow 74, may be broken down by enzymes, or metabolized” (fda.gov). The sun light breaks down the ink in the tattoo, meaning tattoo ink fades overtime (fda.gov). Your skin cells could die due to the ink by sunlight, laser light, and ink breakdown products are spread within the body (fda.gov).
