The way I inspire students to learn is to first build a positive relationship with students. I would try to build rapport with each student. This is because I want to build a classroom community with the students. If I have successful and positive classroom community with the class and the students, then I have to come to notice that the students will want to try their best and do what you have ask of them. I would like to get to know the students’ backgrounds because this will help me to meet the students’ needs and where to meet them at. This way I can know about their culture and their home life. For consequences I would give a student a warning the first time to try to redirect them to the activity, second, I would make them take a pom pom out of their bucket because they are taking away from me and the class’s bucket, and last, I would make them sit out for five minutes in recess. The reason I decided to enter the teaching profession is because I have had teachers who have impacted my life as a student and as a teacher I want to do the same for my students. My first-grade teacher noticed that I was a struggling reader and referred me to a program to get help. After getting help in reading I moved up from the last reading group to the first read group. This gave me a boost in confidence in my reading and to have a love for reading. My other teacher who I feel impacted my life is my second-grade teacher. I don’t remember anything I learned in her class, but I remember how I felt being in her class. I remember feeling loved and her greeting us every morning with a hug before we came inside the classroom. This is one of the reasons why I decided to enter the teaching profession because I hope to make an impact in a child’s life like my teachers did.
