Team Meeting Reflection

Bina Habibi had her first team meeting with EHS staff at the Prairie Oak on Sept. 26th from 9-12 noon. It was a regular team meeting in which debriefing, disseminating information, and discussing events in the present, past and future occurred. John facilitated the session; the team reviewed culminating training seminar with Dr. Jennifer. In addition, the team discussed forthcoming socialization, home visits, and ChildPlus. The team brings extensive experiences in home visiting, relationship strategies with families, and more. There are a lot of individual strengths reflected in each team member. It appears that the individual strengths are combined during socializations and meetings to bring the best out of the team to serve the children and families in the communities. The team will benefit from the structural support at this time. There was some ambiguity regarding office hour timings for the staff. The team along with the new supervisor will be working on this issue. There was a concern about work phones for the home visiting staff. Blanca will start working with the team beginning October 3rd with the minimum hours out of the office to help with the transition at Morton. The team will be informed of those hours while she is assisting Morton transition. Blanca will be available to fully support the team at the Prairie Oak from October ------. John’s aid with this adjustment will be truly appreciated. Specifically, beginning to coach Blanca in program operation, staff development, familiarizing with new Head Start Performance Standards, and other details will be of immense value. Further, status check mentoring for all EHS staff would be beneficial. Also, thanking Bea for giving us a hand in this transition process.
