I thought what he had to say was excellent in having an answer for the origins of the universe. I would have loved to seen more practical knowledge on how someone can share the love of Christ to the Advancement community. The Advancement keeping the faith in an evolutionary age by L. Russ Bush was an excellent read and an a additional reference tool for anyone library to help fight the culture
This documentary follows two addicts, Dawn and Fabian, through some of the journey and highlights the unfortunate truths behind addition. Dawn has two sons, Brandon and Tyler, and was a meth user. Fabian is an artist who spends his day injecting or smoking meth and drinking alcohol. For both of them, the high from meth can last up to sixteen hours and has consumed their lives. The premise of this documentary is that the addicts believed they were simply being interviewed about their addiction, when in reality their families were working with experts to stage interventions.
What would you do differently next time? Etc. My talk with Denis Hopovac was meaningful, because we established a connection between us. As I hoped, the talk was full of surprises since it was a mixture of good memories, observations of the local Bosnian community, and a lot of laughs.
I will be contacting the following organizations: Fresh Start Ministries, Sunrise Detox, Mind, Body, and Soul Recovery Housing, Orlando Recovery Center, Aspire Health Partners, Horizons Recovery, and New Bridge Recovery and Wellness Center. All of these organizations are based in Orlando so that they would have close proximity to the festival. Also, most of these organizations provide housing for their members recovering from addiction, so they would have easy access to delivering the invitation of attending this film to their patients. I also think that these organizations will cater to a significant portion of my audience since the film advocates for the subject of addiction recovery as we follow Padraig’s journey of creating peace for others while finding peace for himself in recovery from alcoholism. The logline of the film will appeal to this audience since it explicitly mentions his recovery from addiction and how he bases his peacemaking off of a recovery model.
Thousands of individuals across the U.S. and beyond suffer from drug and alcohol addiction. Addiction does not discriminate on age, race, gender, religion or political views. It is killing loved ones every day. The Public Service Announcement (PSA), “Common Enemy,” describes how to prevent such atrocities from happening, before they become a problem, by encouraging parents and guardians to speak to children about drugs, alcohol and addiction. Additionally, “Common Enemy” explains how with time, talent, and money kids can be protected.
I have volunteered at events and conferences with multiple organizations such as Dancesafe, Drug Policy Alliance, the Marijuana Policy Project, the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, and Students for Liberty. In April 2016, I had the honor to host a psychedelic dinner in collaboration with MAPS with the goal of raising funds and spreading awareness about MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD which led to raising over $1800 towards research for PTSD. Through my involvement with MAPS I participated in Zendo training facilitated by Shannon Clare Petitt of MAPS where I learned how to provide psychedelic harm reduction services at festivals and similar gatherings. I applied my training when I volunteered at the Fractal Beach music festival in Miami where I managed a safe space for individuals having difficult experiences, provided information regarding adulterated substances, combining substances, and general harm reduction services. I am a firm believer in unconditional support and the importance of harm reduction towards individuals who consume substances in concerning
The environment of the group was not very welcoming. The council seemed like they just wanted to get through the agenda as fast as they could with out a lot of push back. They had an area of the agenda that designated time for citizens to bring up any concerns or questions they might have. The mayor had asked if anyone wanted to get up and speech but within a couple of seconds he moved on to the next category on the agenda.
My favorite party of your presentation was when you told us about your background and how you grew up. It’s not every day that you meet a polygamist, deaf basketball player who is friends with Lebron and Lamar. Your are a really fascinating person. I wasn’t bored at all while listening to your presentation. You are by far the best guest speaker that we had in this class.
Was quite a task. My main focus being a writer for a Internet 24/ 7 classic rock radio station, was on the live music Space City Comic Con 2015 had to offer. One guest in particular, Tim Russ. Most know the name from the television show; Star Trek: Voyager.
Platonic Essay Setting: It is early Saturday morning and three characters, Dr. Andrew Jacobs, Slade Johnson, and Bruce Wilson, are gathered over breakfast discussing the topic of prescription drug abuse and addiction. Dr. Jacobs: Hey guys, I was reading the newspaper today and I stumbled across a section stating that the abuse of prescription drugs, especially pain killers, is becoming a major problem. I am curious to hear your thoughts on this. Slade:
I went to the After Dark experience on campus in the bearcat arena. It had two good speakers. The event started with rapper KB who defiantly got the crowd hyped up for the night. The MC for the night was also a great public speaker. He even when announcing people he gestured.
Similarly, we also stressed the positive attitude and the happiness feeling instead of considering too much. Maybe I will continue join the Ethnos next year, because Ethnos is an interesting activity for me, which can balance my entertainment study life. Thanks for holding this show and giving students chances to participate
I like the guest speaker that we had he helped me understand how jurisdiction is different on and off the reservations. I am excited to see what this class becomes (wish I could retake it in the future to see how it grows). I loved how eye opening taking this class truly was and look forward to learning more on my own time. Summer was a great treat to bring to
The first group to present was the Prickly Thistle girls. I enjoyed their talk. About researching the jet industry and how Claire could get into it. I was surprised to find out that they had emailed many very profitable businesses in order to gauge their product with potential buyers. Ashleigh had a positive attitude when tell how many companies did not reply and how the few that did had vague responses.
The supervision instructor Erica Maloney and three of social work students in addition to me started the supervision meeting on Tuesday, January 29th, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. it was the second meeting for this semester SPRING 2018. It started by welcoming all members of the group with letting us know that the new student Reem switch to another supervision meeting which is on Wednesdays with Dr. Boyle group. Moreover, the meeting this week was completely about the “Learning Plan” with no mention to the students’ activities review. Usually, at the beginning of the supervision meeting, students review their weekly activities and tasks during the last weeks.
