Some of the technological inventions that impacted the civil war were things such as the repeating rifle a.k.a the Spencer repeating rifle, the ironclad, and the Gatling gun. The Spencer repeating rifle was used during the American civil war but didn’t replace the standard muzzle-loading rifled muskets in use at that time. However, these weapons could fire more than one bullet before needing to reload. That made these guns were more efficient and dangerous. Like many other Civil War technologies, these weapons were available to Northern troops but not Southern ones because southern factories had neither the equipment nor the know-how to produce them which shows just how vital these technological advances were in winning the war.
.The Civil War changed the country in many ways. Thousands of men on both sides died during the Civil War. “The Union Army lost 352, 528 men and the Confederate Army lost 258,000 men” (Doc F). Innovative ways to fight came about during the Civil War.
The American Civil War resulted in the most casualties in American history. The political and social fallout as a result of the war still reverberates to this day. As more and more states wanted to join the Union both sides, The North and The South, wanted to gain more states as either slave states or free states. Having more states join their side meant, they would have more power in the government. Although inevitable, it was delayed by 40 years through agreements and compromises.
Advancements in Weaponry Throughout America’s history of war, weaponry has played a major factor in conflict. Weapons were improved for the benefit of the American soldiers. Since American war instruments have been improved in technology, the U.S was able to exceed over their opponents in war from the Colonial Era to the Antebellum Era. The usage of improved weaponry was a major advantage for the United States.
In 1861, the country of the United States was in a war with their own country. The war was about blacks being slaves and how they should be treated equally as whites are. The civil war had killed more people than any other war in the history of our world. If you add up the fatalities from the last 4 wars the United states had been apart of, the fatalities were still not as bad as they were in the civil war and that was for one reason. The war had introduced many new types of technology such as, the war submarine, the repeating rifle, the refrigerated train car and many others.
The Civil War was one of the bloodiest wars ever fought in American soil. Around 620,000 out of 2.4 million soldiers perished and left much of the south in complete ruin. It all started when the northern states wanted to vanish all type of slavery and spread this idea towards the western states. The southern states economy came majorly from large farms that were dependent on the slaves. This northern idea of anti-slavery meant that the slaves and that the economy of the southern states were in danger.
American civil war was a terrible time to the United States of America. The American civil war started when the south wanted slavery but the north did not want any more slavery so it created a feud between them. The American civil war made America an unsecured place in the world war I. America used to supply weapons in World War I. It made the civil war stay within America and they did not allow any country to come fight for one part of America. The north defended itself against the south.
During the Reconstruction Era in 1865, many U.S Americans died during the Civil War fighting against the Confederate States of America. The number of deaths is estimated about 600,000, which left a legacy ruin for the South (Lecture notes). The Civil War might have killed over 600,000 Americans, but it also helped build many new things. The War fused the nation into a more economic and social nation by building more systems such as banks, railroads and most importantly a new society committed to industrialization (Lecture notes). It also changed slaves lives because the war destroyed slavery!
How the Civil War Affected the USA The Civil War is considered to be the most horrific yet influential wars in American History. While the American Revolution revolved around establishing the nation, the Civil War was about deciding the fate of the blossoming nation. But determining the fate of the nation came at a huge cost; approximately 620,000 American citizens lives were tragically lost during the barbarous conflict, which is equivalent to ¼ civilians whom went into combat never returned home.
The Civil War was a fight for freedom, it was a fight between the Union or the North, and the Confederacy or the South. Abraham Lincoln was president at the time of the North, he believed in freedom of the slaves. On the other hand Jefferson Davis the leader and President of the Confederacy, this led to the Civil War where the Union fought because they wanted to free the slaves held in the South for labor because Lincoln quotes “All men shall be created equal” and stood by that conquering the South and eventually winning. Change, Political leadership, and overall freedom were the three significant pieces that led to the success of the war. There were many advancements throughout and after the war, including medicine, weapons, and roles in society.
The Civil War was a treacherous war, nevertheless it did bring about massive industrial growth. This growth made the nation not only stronger but also wealthier and without this growth, the U.S could not be what is today. The U.S has only prospered significantly since this industrial revolution. This tremendous growth brought about numerous advantages in addition to disadvantages to the American people at this time. First, there were lots of noticeable advantages the revolution brought.
The American Civil War was one of the devastating wars that the world and the newly formed country of the United States had ever seen. It was one of the bloodiest wars that the country would see, even into modern times of the twenty first century as well. There were many turning points to the war that helped turn the tide of the war in the favor of the North to win eventually. The war had more casualties than any other war the United States had ever been in, so that goes to show how much both the North and the South were willing to give up to win one of the most important wars in US history. There were many battles that helped expose the advantages and disadvantages for both sides had during this costly war.
The civil war had a very profound effect on America and what it has become today. With the civil war many changes took place such as 13th, 14th, and 15th amendment. Women’s rights were put forth into motion. Along with Reconstruction laws being passes and the push back that these laws caused. During this time the south became even more divided and started to take things into account and create their own laws in regards to racism.
Rifles - this war made many advancements in gun technology. Such as revolving rifles or guns that could shoot more than one at a time. For instance, the Colt Revolving Rifle and the Mini Ball. This ammunition changed the Civil War. It had much better accuracy than a lead ball and had more knock down power.

It created many new machines and devices for a better life, but it also created weapons of mass destruction to make war much deadlier than it was before the industrial revolution. Even with the medical advancements of the industrial revolution, WWI was the deadliest war in the world with 20 million deaths, due to the industrial revolution creating weapons of mass devastation and much deadlier conditions.
