Part A: Research and hand in component
There are many revolutionary technological advancements that have and are being used to further develop and prove the theory of the Big Bang which is our understanding of the origin of the universe. These technologies include the COBE satellite, the Hooker telescope and the Hubble telescope which are three among the many that contribute evidence of the Big Bang theory through the observations, images and theories developed.

Technology 1 - The COBE satellite
The COBE satellite (displayed in source 1) is known to have confirmed the Big Bang theory. As astronomers continued to examine the radio signals of the Milky Way, they kept receiving a background signal which interfered in all directions with their …show more content…

He also noticed that they were moving away from each other, suggesting that the universe is currently expanding, posing the Big Bang theory for the possible beginning and ending of the universe, which is still currently looked at and believed today. This then lead to Hubble’s law which includes the redshift of the galaxy's spectrum. He believed this because when looking through the telescope he used cepheid variables which is the regular brightness of a star to determine and measure the distance to different galaxies. From these galaxies he examined the spectrum of light from each and realised that in every one the light was twisted out of shape, known as redshift. This is the effect of waves either being lengthened or shortened due to the movement of the …show more content…

It is operated by NASA and was launched on April 24th in 1990 to further examine the origin of the universe and over 20 years later still continues to do so. It is the most sophisticated piece of machinery ever to be placed in the Source 4 Earth’s orbit. This allows it to go deeper into space than any other telescope. The telescope’s main goal is to determine how fast the universe is expanding, further advancing Edwin Hubble’s discovery using the Hooker telescope which is named in honour of his legacy.

Astronomers are able to get a better view of things in space such as distant galaxies, planets, stars and gas clouds resulting with information and images to be sent back for analysis. It has taken many pictures in space and has captured many breathtaking and never seen before images which helps prove things other than theory of the origin of the universe. It is proven to be one of the most productive instruments ever created. The Hubble telescope has explored the solar system, new moons of pluto, protoplanetary disks, gamma ray bursts, dark matter, black holes and many more radical discoveries for us to expand and learn more
