Ex Machina is a science fictional movie showing a world in which technology has evolved. Where a main character, Nathan, creates a human like AI. The AI named, Ava, has a human like face and robotic body. Ava is able to comprehend, talk, walk, and much more use like a regular human body. Caleb, a worker for Nathan’s company is invited to test Ava to see if she is human. Caleb starts to develop feelings for the AI due to Nathan using his search engine to create a physical AI that is attractive. Caleb thinks he was recruited for his computing skills but finds out that it was because he was single and lonely. All this information about Caleb came all from the Bluebook which is our equivalent to google mixed with social media. He was just someone random person without a life. Caleb is chosen to test Ava based on information gathered from his search engine. He works for a company called Bluebook which is the modern day Google and social media combined. Nathan the founder of the company went through all the employee internet history to calculate the perfect person for the test. Caleb’s privacy was invaded. But we know that everything on the internet is stored somewhere. Everything that we do is tracked, we all have a digital footprint on the web. Companies like Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and Google are able to find personal things using calculations of what you do day to day. People do not realize that everything they do is tracked. I think it is an invasion of privacy but it is not against the law. We should all know by now that nothing is private on the web. Companies should tell their users that they use their information. This teaches a lesson to always remember that everything we do in this century is tracked and recored. If you do not want someone knowing do not put it on the web. With internet access everywhere now, being aware of your privacy is prevalent more than
