In modern society, technology advances have helped humanity tremendously. Technology has given doctors the ability to cure the unthinkable, majorly advance our ways of transportation, and have instant communication with someone across the world, and even those who are in space! Although technology has countless benefits, it also carries a deep dark side that many people are blind to. The ability to have such modern advancements at the tip of your fingers at any given moment could potentially be more dangerous than you will ever realize. Cyber stalking and cyber harassment are a real danger, and it could be happening to you without you ever knowing. Over 100 billion people are active on Facebook every month, many of which are young children and adults. New studies have shown that the average age a child gets a cell phone is now six years old. Giving a child that kind of access that young is dangerous to their wellbeing. I strongly believe that if a child has a device younger than the age of 10, the parent should be able to have complete and full access to their device via an app on their own personal phone. If a parent has the option to oversee their child's activity, they have a higher likelihood of keeping them safe from any potential harm and predators. Danger can arise at any moment, and children are less likely to always speak out for many reasons. One reason could be the fear of getting in trouble. Another reason a child might not speak out due to possible danger is because they might not realize they are at risk.
