I was not very happy as it was not a career I enjoyed, and it took lots of studying. It eventually became too stressful as my strenuous efforts toward my parents’ goal were not paying off. My parents stopped pressuring me as it was
In 1908 Ford had changed the game with the first mass production car in the United States, and still today the automobile sits close to the center of the daily lives of many Americans. Since that time it has remained the main way to travel across the country and with around 100 years of use from 1920 to today, the automobile has gone through a fair share of changes. The automobile has adapted to many new innovations in technology, many new ways for the automobile to be used, thousands of American regulations, many changes in safety, and created one of the largest manufacturing battles on the planet. These changes are not entirely clean as there was still some continuity in the technology, laws, and safety in the automobile.
Have you ever seen a 7 year old busboy at a restaurant? At that age I became one at my family's Caribbean restaurant. Yes being a 7 year old busboy is a bit crazy, but it is very much realistic. Working at that age up until now has given me many experiences both socially and economically. I found it easy walking up to a total stranger and starting a conversation.
It was an overall positive experience, and taught me skills I needed for future occupations,
Bringing a bad attitude to a job will bring everyone else’s mood down and no one will want to work. “... The number of federally funded summer jobs, where students work temporarily with their local government, has declined.” Minimum wage has grown since the 1990’s, so employees are getting paid more than they might have back then. But sadly for teens, they cannot have a salary because they are under the age of 18.
When I was seventeen I worked at a fast food restaurant called Tim Hortons. It was my second job and I surprisingly didn’t hate it. Actually, I really quite enjoyed the people that I worked with. During school days I would work the evening shift, which was from 2 P.M. to 10 P.M. Then on the weekends I would work in the morning from 6 A.M. to 2 P.M..
Technology use has changed the legal field, from law firms, to the courtroom operation and document management. Paralegals are becoming more proficient in using Word, spreadsheet, presentations, database to track clients, and cases, but also learning to use more of legal research software database applications design for certain areas of law. Using technology in a law firm can help deliver effective legal advice and services, for example a law firm can using Lexis Nexus or Westlaw, in finding case law for a certain case, instead of the traditional research books, it saves the attorney substantial amount of time while getting other cases done. I work at an Immigration law firm, and we use the legal application INS zoom for documents, and populating
My first job offer was in departments I would be crossed trained in women’s health. Which I was super excited about as I was intrigued and ready to learn as much as I could about the female body. Along with
In the beginning, I started working when I was 17 years old. I worked at a retail store in Bloomfield, New Jersey after school and on the weekend. I began working at an early age because I want to stand on my own feet and I do not want to rely on my family.
Getting your job will be the best feeling ever to have and it will become an achievement in your life. There are so many perks into having a job, especially starting at a young age. In reality, it is really beneficial to at least have a job. A job that a person like the rest of us can build up skills, any skills that may help. Also, a good start to save money in the future, just in case anything happens when a crisis begins.
I chose to be an electrician as my future career. I have already achieved my apprentice license and hope to find an apprenticeship program to go ahead and get my journeyman’s and eventually my masters while making good money working for a company. I like the work as an electrician and the pay makes it even better as a career choice. I have been taking classes for this job throughout high school and have done some side jobs on the side involving electricity. The small jobs I have done on my own I have done very well with and really liked doing the work.
Some say getting hired at any job can be difficult, especially if it considers taking a few risks to work during long hours. Like Russel Honore and Bill Laitner talks about how they risked to not work for anything they were interested in, but who can complain when somebody earns money to take care of oneself? Some people believe that having a job is a privilege, and that anyone should be thankful for having that job even if some of those employees do not like it. Although having a job can be time-consuming and stressful, it is a responsibility to provide for oneself with anything that comes from work. Appreciate a job that can get someone paid for something that they have to do.
I learned that Occupational Therapy is not a career path I wanted to pursue because the responsibilities and are involved with Occupational Therapy does not seem like something that I would enjoy doing everyday. The variety of customers that came in was interesting and sometimes was very enjoyable, but for the most part I thought the job was very quiet and tamed for me. I found out I might enjoy a career that is mostly predictive, but something new happens every once in a while to keep things interesting. This contributed to the advancement of my career goals by helping me realize the type of work environment I feel would fit me the best and the job shadow also helped me figure out that even though Occupational Therapy can be rewarding and you are helping a wide variety of people, this career path does not suit me. There are other jobs out there that give me the opportunity to help people in other ways, as well as suiting my needs environmentally as well.
Instead I took a job as in a fast-foods place where I had no future. Then I went to work in a big company just doing simple office work. When it came time for promotions I couldn’t pass the tests they gave. That was not all. As a result of quitting school later.
My parents both have stuck with the same jobs for years. Seeing this made me learn that once you have something you’re good at you have to maintain it and even though it may not be the best job you still are able to show how good of a work ethic you
