As technology use is rising among teenagers within Canada, the situation presented is changing and impacting social interactions. This paper will contain literature review writing from credible sources that are related to this important research topic. The research paper will specifically pay attention to three key points that are important to this research. First, we will examine how technology and social media can be an addiction for teenagers. To be more specific, the paper will be looking at what causes teenagers to become addicted to their phones. For instance, how teenagers need to stay up to date, how they need to entertain themselves, and how they need to stay relevant. We all know what technology is and how much we can do with it. As we know technology has evolved throughout the years, making technology our main daily resource. In Canada we see technology improving and advancing, making technology much easier to access. It’s so easy to access that we usually have it right in our hands, cell phones. Technology now is very important; we mainly always rely on technology everyday. We use it to keep up to date with what is going on around us and can be used as a faster alternative. The younger generation, more specifically teenagers, can’t live without technology. More specifically their cell phones, we all know teenagers can’t live without their phones. Teenagers use technology basically everyday, morning to night. They use cell phones anywhere, like at school, at home, public places, anywhere when they have free time. Teenagers always use technology to entertain themselves. Sometimes we don’t see it, but we do rely on technology more than we rely on people. Technology has many causes that can affect people, mainly the adolescent and sometimes it can impact how they interact with others. This research paper will contain three main points that relate to the research topic. One will be on how the usage of technology is leading to adolescents becoming addicted to their phones.
