Theodore Bundy aka “Ted” Bundy was born in Burlington, Vermont on November 24, 1946. His mover Eleanor Cowell was an unmarried 22-year-old woman when she gave birth to him. Eleanor’s parents were very religious individuals and his birth humiliated his grandparents. In order to hide the fact that he was an illegitimate child Ted was raised as and adopted son to his grandparents and was told that his mother was his sister. A few years later his mother and him moved to Tacoma, Washington and in 1951 she married Johnnie Bundy and had several children in the following years. He was known as a serial killer, rapist, and necrophiliac. Bundy admitted to killing 36 women across several states, but experts believe that the final tally of women killed may be closer to 100 or more. “Most sources say that he began his murderous rampage around 1974 (biography.com). Bundy used to lure his victims into his car by pretending to be injured and asking for help. In 1975 he was pulled over and police searched his vehicle and uncovered a cache of burglary tools. He was arrested for possession of the tools and the police slowly began to link him to more sinister crimes. Bundy was also arrested for the kidnapping of Carol DaRonch and received a one to fifteen year jail sentence. A few years later he was indicated on murder charges for the death of a Colorado women. While imprisoned Bundy managed to escape on two separate occasions. His second escape lead him to Tallahassee, Florida where he broke into the Chi Omega sorority house at Florida State University and attacked four girls and killed two. Several days later he kidnapped and murdered a 12 year old named Kimberly Leach. He was later apprehended by police and convicted of the deaths of the sorority sisters, and the following year was sentenced to death for the murder of Kimberly Leach.
