There are many differences between Edgar Allan Poe’s two short stories, “The Tell Tale Heart” and “The Black Cat,” including their resolutions, confessions, and the narrators’ reasons for telling their stories. First of all, one story is a cliff-hanger, and has no resolution, while the other has a resolution. In “The Tell Tale Heart”, the narrative ends at the climax of the story, which is when the narrator confesses his crime to the police. However, in “The Black Cat”, the resolution is revealed in the beginning of the story, when he explains that he will be executed for his crimes. In addition, in one tale, the narrator confesses his offense, while the other crime is exposed by accident.
Sometimes two unrelated characters from different stories have more similarities than we think. In “The Yellow Wallpaper” and “The Tell-Tale Heart” we get a glimpse inside of what is happening in the minds of the narrators. We are able to see the characters ' spiraling progression of their mental illnesses driven by their environment and how they are affected by others. Each narrator is frustrated with their situation and wants a release from it (their illness or treatment thereof). The narrators later succumb to what they seemingly can no longer control.

The same thing can be said for “The Tell Tale” and “The Raven” both written works by the author Edgar Allan Poe. “The Tell-Tale Heart” is a short story about an insane man who wants to murder a man just because of the old man's eye. “The Raven” is about a man who is trying to get rid of a raven in his house and takes out the anger of his dead wife on the raven Even though Edgar Allan POE’s “The Tell-Tale Heart” and “The Raven” have their differences, but also share many similarities.

Killers can seem sane, like everyone. “The Tale Tale Heart” written by Edgar Allan Poe is a story about a man that killed an old man because he had the eye of a vulture. The story of “The Landlady” was written by Roald Dahl about a woman who runs a bed-and-breakfast where Billy ends up staying and she poisons him with cyanide. Throughout their writing, both Edgar Allan Poe and Roald Dahl use narrative voice and literary devices to develop a suspenseful mood. Edgar Allan Poe uses a first-person unreliable narrator to create a sense of fear and suspense throughout “The Tell-Tale Heart”.
In this assignment I will be comparing and contrasting The Tell Tale Heart, written by Edgar Allen Poe and The Cold Embrace written by Mary E. Braddon. These two horror stories share similarities, however they also have their differences. One of the main differences in these stories is the technique the author chooses to open the story, which creates a certain tone for the two stories. In our case, both stories open with the main character giving a message to the reader of their life.
Do you think a classic horror story is appropriate for my age group to read?It is in my opinion,but others think it is not age appropriate. I’m going to speak on my opinion and give reasons for why i think that this text is age appropriate and i’m going to speak on why others think it is not age appropriate. The Tell -Tale Heart is a great story for kids my age,because most children like mysteries,and suspense.it gets them thinking,and it gets them to read more stories like this. Also,this story is age appropriate ,because this story is written in a way so kids my age can read and understand it. If the book was not age appropriate it would not be read in schools.

Edgar Allan Poe used the literary device of setting to create a dark, deep tone in his short story by using two important elements of setting, time of day and the mood and atmosphere. Edgar Allan Poe is using the primitive scary scenes that we are fearful to.
