On 09/18/2016, at approximately 2148 hours, at the Durango Jail located at3225 W Gibson Ln Phoenix, AZ 85009 an Inmate/Inmate fight had occurred in Durango 3 B Pod between Inmate Moothery, Naz T303229 and Inmate Sams, Worine T284566. Upon entering Durango 3 B Pod, Inmate Sams approached Inmate Moothery and begun fighting by Durango 3 B Pod door. Multiple strikes were thrown by both inmates until Inmate Moothery had fallen to the Pod floor. At that time Officer Serrano approached the pod door and gave both inmates commands to stop fighting. No radio call was made due to both inmates complying with the orders given.
Catlyn’s parents have been in jail since the beginning of October. Catyln’s grandfather told Catlyn to stay with Onnie. Onnie is the mother to Catlyn’s friend. Onnie found out the parents were in jail two days later on the news; Catyln had been with Onnie since. On 10-19-15, Linda (grandmother) picked Catyln up from Onnie’s home.

The full body scanner, which will be installed in order to prevent the inmates from bringing drugs, weapons, or other contrabands inside the prison. According to Kent county sheriff, Lawrence Stelma, these scanners are expensive, but quite effective (Hall, 2016). The article states that smuggling contraband is one of the biggest issue in the prison system. Many inmates tend to hide objects such as, drugs, illegal substances, copper wires, and so forth.

Could you imagine your 17 year old daughter, who is at her first year in college, being sentenced to life in prison without parole? Yvette Louisell didn’t know that that’s where her life was headed but soon she would find out. She is one out of 37 current Iowa inmates that have been given a life sentence for a crime committed as a juvenile. Louisell lived in Kalamazoo, Michigan but was eagerly hoping to find a way out. Her family life was not very stable.
The Jaycee Lee Dugard case contributed to the overhaul of assessment of risks, needs, and management of offenders within California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation program. Phillip Garrido was charged with kidnapped and sexual assault of Jaycee Dugard over 18 years span (1991-2009). The aggravating details arise from the incident is that Garrido was under parole supervision as a sex offender since 1999. During those years, Garrido was hardly supervised due to improper classification as low-risk sex offender and failure of background research.
The Unjust, Immoral, Controversial Prison Scandal Throughout the duration of the twentieth-century, the United States experienced an era of reform and change economically, politically, and socially. During this time period, Arkansas had made efforts to reform as well, although not all of them were worked out nor were considered to fall under moral standards. One of the ways Arkansas attempted to change was through the use of state prison farms. In these farms, prison inmates were forced to labor in the farms in an attempt to save money that would normally be given to hired help.
On September 21st, I attended an event featuring guest activist and author Susan Burton. The event started at 2:00pm as the room overflowed with people eager to hear Susan 's voice. There were people occupying every space of the rather small Whitsett room. Ms. Burton first talked about the traumas she suffered as a child and later, as an adult. Susan 's son was tragically ran over and killed by a police officer, which led to alcohol and drug abuse and her eventual incarceration.

Unfortunately, adolescents, like adults, commit horrible crimes and make terrible mistakes. And, like adults, they should be held accountable but in accordance with their age, stage of development, and greater capacity for rehabilitation.
