The artist that wrote the song for my music project is called song Simani. I thought I’d tell you about the artist first so you could get a bit of backstory on the song “Music and Friends” or any other songs you have heard by Simani. Simani is a duo band (two members) who focus their music on their Newfoundland and Labrador culture that they were raised in. The band had come together in 1977 with members Bud Davidge and Sim Savory. Sim was a kind hardworking man who never gave up through all the struggles in his life.
Jump Jive an’ Wail was written and performed in 1939 by Louis Prima. He was a popular nightclub singer/trumpeter in 1930’s and 1940’s and a big band leader. As a trumpet player Prima composed and recorded some of the biggest hits of the big band era and wrote numerous swing music pieces. In 1956 he became the most popular act in Las Vegas as a live act. He recorded his album “The Wildest” live in April of 1956 at a casino lounge in Las Vegas.
I think that there are two musical ideas in this piece with the pattern AABBAAB. Idea A starts at the beginning and ends at 0:16, then repeats itself until 1:21. Idea B occurs during 1:22-2:17 with a saxophone carrying the melody of the piece. Idea B is started again during 2:18-3:17 but this time, a piano takes the melody. Idea A begins again at 3:18-3:45 and repeats again at 3:46-4:15.
The musical Seussical the Musical was a jovial experience that made many including me reminiscence the times when we read Dr. Suess. The creative sets, colorful costumes, and the acting skills brought Dr. Seuss 's books alive. I truly enjoyed the aspect of joining Dr. Seuss books and plots, like Gertrude McFuzz to create one plot and the inclusion of The Cat in the Hat in many of the scenes. The musical captured the ambience of the books, specifically Horton Hears A Who. The dedication of those in the musical shined from their eminent acting skills and their ability to display the character they portrayed.
From the initial reaction to the announcement, everyone seemed excited as can be. Three long, hard months of work all come down to just five shows, each two hours long. To have these musicals there is a lot of work to be done in a little amount of time. At Kings Junior High every performer is not only required to be at all of their rehearsal times, but have private one on one singing coaching, and donating some of their time to the building of the set. For a show to have a good outcome, every single person must be putting in a lot of time and effort, not just as rehearsals but at home also.
Urinetown is the fall musical that our school magnificently performed. It centers about this town in which people have to pay to pee and a love story about two young adults trying to change the way of the town. The musical premiered in 2001 with the music by Mark Hollmann, lyrics by Hollmann and Greg Kotis, and book by Kotis. What interested me was that the musical mocks capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, and the whole idea of going against the corrupt government. Also, the concept of going to the bathroom is not free is unique to me.
I choose the psychological lens. I chose this lens because it focus on what the character think .It also focus on what motivates them. In my song the author writes about what she thinks about women 's confidence or way of thinking about thir bodies. She also wrote about how her mother motivated her. In the song she wrote that in popular magazines they use alot of photoshop .Trainor
Personally, Phantom of the Opera was the first musical I had ever seen. I remember being in middle school and my dad suggesting that I watch it and me shaking my head because I did not even like opera. Begrudgingly, I agreed to watch it and after seeing the whole thing it shocked me. I was so surprised with how much I enjoyed seeing every second of it. That show really got me interested in the theatre world.
When I attended Shrek the Musical put on by Wylie High Schools Theater Department, I admit that I did not have high expectations. I had always enjoyed the Shrek movies, but was not prepared to witness the green Ogre come to life before my eyes. From the moment the characters marched down the isle of the auditorium, it was evident that many talented people had put time in effort into making this performance enjoyable and memorable. Shrek the Musical consisted of a tremendous cast, beautiful music, awe inspiring scenery in addition to heart felt imagery.

The Matrix is a sci-fi action film, it reflected the world in a bad relation between human and robotic. The main character Neo save the world, and fight with robot. The Matrix is a personal heroism Hollywood movie, it showed the unique characteristics of the music and a good interpretation of the film. The film soundtrack penetrated the suspense style incisively and vividly, especially network technology, the variety of electronic music, advanced film characters’ style which all are quite fit, sometimes people cannot figure the true or false, the actual situation and network is often closely interwoven. The fierce industrial metal music makes people to be feared, under the rule of the brutal machinery world, while those filled with death of
Film Music Review —Titanic Titanic is a beautiful love story happening on a sinking ship and an unparalleled success in the cinema, with 11 Oscar rewards won and countless nominations. It is a very expensive film to be made, and the first film to break the billion box office record. As I revisited this film, once again I was truly touched by the star-crossed lovers and the humanity in front of a disaster. Indeed, the world was moved by Titanic.
“Halo” by Beyonce Knowles I choose to analyze the song “Halo” by Beyonce Knowles. I really like this song because it has a very catchy chorus and Beyonce does an amazing job singing it. Out of all the songs I listen to this song stands out because it has a pretty unique instrumental and lyrics. Another reason why I picked this song was because I admire Beyonce because is a very strong and independent person.
Modern Era The Modern Era is the time period in musical development that began around the turn of the 20th century in which great changes in compositional techniques and styles took place. This era challenged and reinterpreted old styles of music, making it a time of great innovation. Although homophonic textures were used, they were used with less importance and the most dominant texture of the Modern era was contrapuntal texture.
Introduction Roger’s and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music is arguably one of the most well known films that many can admit to watching at least once in their lifetime. People all around the world have found this musical inspiring, as it documents growth and hope amidst the horrors of World War II. This incredibly well written film is based on the story of the Von Trapp family who escaped Austria when the Nazis invaded it during the war. Part of what made this movie so interesting on so many different accounts was the music that accompanied the vivid and exciting scenes. Without music, many could agree that our world would be a sad, quiet, dull and depressing place.
