Terrorism Analysis

INTRODUCTION

This paper fuses key characteristics of terrorism with key elements of a comprehensive counterterrorism strategy. Terrorism means the use of violence and threats to intimidate especially for political purposes (Webster, 1828) . Counterterrorism is explained by the United States of America as practices, tactics, techniques, and strategies that governments, militaries, police departments and corporations adopt in response to terrorist threats and/or acts, both real and imputed (Kolodkin, 2014). These agencies are put in place to secure lives of civilians as it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that there is no civil unrest. This essay will thoroughly analyze characteristics of terrorism, cases of terrorism and merge them with techniques or tactics that have been put in place to deal away with terrorism or at least reduce cases of terror.
