The word terrorism has popped up more and more times spreading through America like a virus, but this is no ordinary virus. This word is used to change the lives of one culture and to put fear in others throughout the world. The word can create chaos while forming an emotion aroused in impeding danger and points the finger of all America’s causes to the Muslims. The meaning of terrorism has bent the structures on what the word has stood for and what the word means to our civilization.
Over the years we have all witness act of this dangerous threat that affects millions of Americans today. Though politics and religion have stomped all over this word, before terrorism had only one definition to it. They unleashed this word, terrorism, whenever they want in order to spread fear and get the people’s trust. In October, Las Vegas had been struck with a massive acted where a man had shot down into a crowd of innocent people effecting more than five hundred people. This man had endangered the lives of thousands and caused a wave of massive fear and panic throughout the area, but this act is not classified as a terrorist attack. “The label is so powerfully pejorative and carries so much weight.” (Shane). Terrorism is an act of pure violence and yes, it must be stopped, but we can’t let fear get the best of us. We must uphold measurements into insuring that everybody gets treated equally, that we stop looking at people differently.
