The Tesla Coil was introduced to the world by Nicholas Tesla, hence the name. This invention can be explained with great difficulty, but the main idea is electricity. The Tesla coil was produced to transmit electricity to a receiver. It can be useful for radio transmission or even as a weapon. The electricity surges can be cause some damage, and can even prove to be deadly.
An electric current is the flow of electrons. This causes the difference in electrical voltage between two places to push the current. Current can be thought as a water current, and voltage can be thought as a hill. This means the hill pushes the water current. Furthermore, electromagnetic induction introduces, and is, the power of the Tesla coil. Electromagnetic …show more content…

A magnetic field is when a region of space near a magnet, electric current, or moving charged particle in which a magnetic force acts on any other magnet, electric current, or moving charged particle. When electricity flows through a wound up coil of wire, it generates a magnetic field. This fills in the area around the coil in a certain pattern and a certain way. When a magnetic field flows through the middle of the coiled wire it causes an electrical current to actually flow. The power of a Tesla coil is determined by the number of turns in the wire, which in turn increases the electrical potential. A coil with a certain amount of turns will generate more and more voltage within a changing magnetic field. To conserve energy, less current flows through higher voltage. This is also likewise with the everyday AC in your own house. One difference between the voltage in an AC to Tesla Coil is the change in voltage. To determine the change in voltage, you find the ratio of coils on one side to the other on a Tesla coil. A Tesla Coil has a very dramatic change in voltage compared to a transformer. A standard transformer can go from 120v in a wall to about 10,000 v. A Tesla coil has a much more dramatic change, from about 100,000 v to 1 million
