The industry of renewable energy has the potential to redefine the world, as we know it today. And no company is bringing this change faster than Tesla and its leader, Elon Musk. Both Tesla and Musk personally have received high praise and strong criticism. The proponents strongly believe in Tesla’s mission “to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy”. Tesla is thought of more than just a company – it is the vehicle that will bring humanity closer to the sustainable energy. The belief is strong on the consumer level, resulting in car preorders by various companies, which won’t be fulfilled for at least over a year . This belief is not even shattered by a fairly large debt that Tesla currently has. On the other hand, the electric vehicle industry has received major criticism. It has been argued that electric cars bring their own sets of issues, like environmental and ethical concerns due to the use of rare earth metals.
