What would the world look like in 10 years? 50 years? 100 years? You might be thinking of a ton of new technologies that will exist in the future. However, for that future to exist some needs to make them in the first place. Enter Elon Musk. With the companies he’s started and the work he’s done, the future may come much quick than we expect. Before a discussion about his way of thinking and what he is currently working on, let’s first explore how he got to where he is today. After all, it currently is one of the biggest users of gasoline and oil. So looking at cars, what other method of energy could be used to move it forward. He eventually settled on electricity. He could've just made a car that used electricity and started selling them. After all, other car companies have at least some electric cars; what makes Tesla different? He compared the strengths of electric cars to the strength of traditional cars. Some of the drawbacks of the electric cars were that their ranges were far lower than that of gas cars and that charging stations were much less common than gas stations. He has stated that he works at SpaceX on Monday and Thursday and he works at Tesla on Tuesday and Wednesday. His Friday could be allocated for either one of the two companies (Yarow). In regards to working with other people, he will often give very tight deadlines. The tight deadlines carry over to public announcements as well, so they often delay the unveiling of future products (Feloni). He usually works 80-90 hour work weeks, but has worked up to 100 hours per week from time to time. In those cases, he’d work during the weekends. With the amount of time that he works, he will shorten his lunch and breakfast time drastically, and sometimes won’t even eat breakfast. He also stated that he works out once or twice a week (Brassfield). While he’s a busy guy, I think that sometimes, he can take his degree of being busy a bit too far.
