What if inception was truly possible? What could this do to one’s mind? The possibilities are endless. Freud was one of the first people to ever analyze dreams in order to understand different characteristics of people’s personalities. The thought of inception has several correlating factors to Freud’s ideas. One of these factors is the dependence on dream content, dream thoughts, and dream language. Freud argues that “dream thoughts and dream content are presented to us like two versions of the same subject-matter in two different languages.” The movie Inception showcases the idea of different ways of presenting forth ideas to people which was one of Freud’s points about dreams. Christopher Nolan, the screenwriter and producer of Inception, does such a wonderful job at playing with the perception of dreams by using each character as a step to enhance and create the reality of this concept. …show more content…
However the true introduction of Cobb’s character comes in when he is snooping around in Saito’s mind. We come to realize that he’s very much like a salesman, pitching to Saito about how great his dream security service is in order to get Saito to confide in him and take what he needs from his subconscious. Soon after Mal is made present and we learn that she and Cobb are more than just acquaintances. He then proceeds to rappel down the side of a building to cut through a window to break into Saito’s safe but on the way he kills a guard using a pistol with a silencer. Cobb has now become this swift trained spy-like man who which was first thought of to be a somewhat normal guy. The mission continues but things don’t turn out too well after the original dreamer, , was killed making the dream collapse on
