In the story Thank you Ma’am by Langston Hughes, the reader becomes fully aware of the self respect to which Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones is in position to hold herself as well as anybody whom she comes into contact with. She set her expectations so high as well as she does not have any reason to behave in an unseemly manner even when she is desperate circumstances.
