Bullying What exactly is bullying? Bullying is when somebody harasses, threatens, or calls names constantly. The victims of bullying are children at school, either because of their popularity, or just because of the way they look, or of either their race,their ethnicity, or beliefs. Children and adults can also be bullied online, especially nowadays because technology is such a big thing. What affect can bullying have on a person? Bullying can come in different ways. It can be more harsh and hurtful, or it can just be simple and make somebody upset. But in most cases people usually get really hurt. Bullying can cause a person to lose self esteem, and can make someone feel like they don’t belong in their own skin, or their surroundings. It can make a person depressed, want to be alone, and be antisocial, and feel like they don’t belong on earth and would be better off not alive. It can also make somebody not wanna be alone, it can make them want to stay around their parents, or just people they feel safe around. Well in many ways. Arnold, the main character gets picked on for the way he looks, because of his stutter, lisp and because he is Indian. "The people at home, call me an apple. Do they think you're a fruit or something? he asked. No, no, I said. They call me an apple because they think I'm red on the outside and white on the inside. Ah, so they think you're a traitor.? Yep. Everybody on the rez calls him retard. They pants him, and stuff his head in the toilet, or just smack him upside the head. He would get beat up at least once a month. He thought it was safer at home. He would just hang out in his bedroom alone drawing
