The American Revolution was evolutionary because the colonists were trying to start a new nation to get away from Britain and out from the King's rule. The King disliked this idea so he started salutary neglect and that is when the colonists declared war with the British. The King had the advantage due to the number of men he had at his disposal. The American Revolution caused the British troops to be at a disadvantage due to the fact that they were far away from home and it took several months for more troops to arrive.
