Advantages of Pig Production

The popularity of pig production is because of the following advantages:
1. Short generation interval between breeding, raising, harvesting.
2. The pig has more taste buds that enables it to eat everything edible to man and other animals including bulky food such as grass or hay. It shows that the pig can tolerate a higher level of dietary fiber that has been recognized and has greatly expanded the range of feed resources for pigs. This is particularly important since the high cost and scarcity of grains and have been major constraints to poultry and pig production in the tropics.
3. Pigs are the most efficient animals for converting kitchen wastes such as leftover and other alternative feedstuffs into meat.
4. The pig is a more efficient carcass yielder than cattle, sheep or goats. In addition, pig carcasses have a proportion of bones and higher proportion edible meat.
5. Pig are easier to dress and have superior curing qualities, an obvious advantage for processing and marketing. I.e. ham, bacon etc.
6. Pigs can easily adapt most environmental conditions. As long as they have a proper ventilation and housing fences.
7. Because the pig possesses a big storage of food, the feces from pigs is rich in nutrients. Pig feces make good fertilizer for crops and can also be recycled into livestock feeds.
Production Process
We have three different ways on raising our pigs. The reason for that is our customers have different preferences. For example
