Choices give people the ability to access and attain their own american dream. Bob Lonsberry states, “Choices have consequences and Americans are free to make individual choices that impact the course their lives will take” (The American Dream: Who is Accountable?). A person’s life is not shaped by the patterns passed down from preceding generations, and choices are not narrowed by items such as those (Harrington 7). Ergo, if one is born into a family of farmers, then, he or she has the ability to make his or her own choices and reach prosperity, happiness, and many other things associated with having an american dream. The ability to make choices is a crucial act to attaining success, and everyone in the US has the capability to make decisions
