The world we live in today is dominated, and constantly evolving because of technology; therefore, it is the prime time to discuss the effects of digital tech on young people. Young as in technology is present in their lives, and has become the norm, it is important to discuss the effects so that we may understand the role tech plays in their lives, whether that be for the positive or the negative. In "The App Generation..." written by Gardner and Davis, they do a superb job of discussing the three aspects affecting the lives of young people, which includes, "their sense of identity, their capacity for intimate relations, and their imaginative powers" (David and Gardner, Pg. 59). Understanding these are the problems and situations affecting current students, we can better teach and prepare the youth to use technology to better their lives, instead of acting as robots, and letting technology rule their lives. In a teachers perspective I will discuss a couple of things which can be done to benefit and help the youth. As for young people losing their sense of identity, and being defined only by social media, and what people behind a screen have to say, I can help this students by reminding them technology is just a tool and they are the ones in charge. While it is perfectly okay to use technology, it should never define the type of person they are or will become. I believe this is major, and should not be something overlooked, young people must know their worth, and understand social media does not control
