1. Gauls, Celts and other groups invaded Rome for many varied reasons, including pressure from the distant Huns from the East. Rome had changed since its early years of glory, progressing from a republic governed by citizen-soldiers into an elitist bureaucracy governing a mostly idle citizenry. It had grown soft and weak. The Huns forced barbarian tribes to move east, and many settled in Rome.
The News Ela staff say, “Rome had tangled with Germanic tribes for centuries, but by the 300s “barbarian” groups like the Goths had advanced beyond the empire's borders.” The Germanic tribes and the Romans could not agree on border disputes for the land. Without having an agreed-upon border, the Germanic tribes simply kept going. This alone was forcing the military to work extremely hard to defend the vast territory it was alleged to defend. To add to this, Rome had to occupy all its empire, not just the part that was threatened by the Germanic Tribes, and these parts too were being attacked by barbarian tribes.
Besides the goths, there were many reasons western Rome fell, from crippling taxation, military failures to climate change and natural disaster. Government corruption and political instability were also major factors of the fall of western Rome. The goths attacked Rome when they were weak, while their army was weak, whilst the government was corrupted and Rome was focusing on itself and not on the threat of the goths. At the beginning of the first millennium CE, the Roman Empire began to conquer the territory around the Mediterranean Sea. Smaller countries feared the Roman Empire because of their great strength. The Roman Empire acquired great wealth, territories, and a reputation as a strong and feared empire. But, as time passed the problems within the Empire accumulated and the state of Roman Empire began to deteriorate before collapsing in 476 CE.
The Roman empire was a prosperous empire that flourished between the years 27 BC - 476 AD. However, there were many internal and external factors that contributed to the fall of the Roman empire. Some internal factors that contributed to the fall of the Roman empire included their financial strains, and the people starting to distrust each other. Some external factors that contributed to the downfall of the Roman empire include constant pressure from the northern world, and Rome’s army not being able to compete with other armies.
The Western Roman Empire fell in the year 476 A.D, there were many factors contributing to the fall of the Empire, such as unconcerned citizens, population, expansion, religion, economic, slave labor, and the military. In Document 1 it states that people gave up on the Roman Empire and didn’t believe it was worth saving. Citizens weren’t allowed to take part in politics and were excluded from their own army. The government slowly lost support which increased the level of government fraud. Also, population decline was a big factor to the fall of Rome; it had decreased from 1,000,000 people to 250,000.
Barbarians have an impressive history despite the bloodshed left in their wake. They somehow went from a lone, nomadic clan to an allegiance of clans who conquered Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe in a very short amount of time. The Barbarians success was probably a result of their strategy and preparedness in war. First they had a specific chain of command for their army and a strategy for attacking that would make their numbers seem larger and surround their adversaries. Furthermore, they would not allow their adversary to rest while fighting and instead took turns to wear them out.
For example, some groups had disagreements because they knew things that they should not have known. The first cause for the fall of the Roman empire was the sudden intrusions from the barbarians, who had fought their way into the city of Rome. Roman soldiers
According to Document 6 the map showed the barbarian invasions on the Roman empire. The barbarian invasions were the end of the Roman empire and the tribes overthrowing the empire. The fall on a string of military losses sustained against outside forces. Invaders surrounded the empire pressuring Rome. In the third century BCE, groups like the Goths had begun to push beyond the boundaries of the Roman Empire.
How Barbaric were the “Barbarians”? The Mongols were nomadic people who lived off of meat, horse hide, and milk. Genghis Khan’s leadership was the awakening of the Mongol success. Under the guidance of the Great Khan, the Mongol empire thrived and expanded.
Then, political strain started occurring in the heart of Rome. Roman leaders started focusing on using force instead of compromise to overtake land. Rome had started to get lazy, and was open for attack. Outside invaders infiltrated Rome, not completely destroying the empire, but destroying the city and heart of Rome. This loss of population made it hard to find laborers and soldiers for war. This caused the empire to pay Germanic soldiers to fight for them. The need to pay for troops created a large debt for the Romans. Another reason that led to the decline of the Roman Empire was their water source coming in through lead pipes. Many people believed this poisoned the Romans which also led to low population.

The history of South Korean begins with the surrender of the Japanese at the end of World War II. It was during this time that the peninsula of Korea was divided into two: the northern zone which was occupied by the Soviet Union and the southern zone which was occupied by the United States, causing two separate governments to form within the country. On August 15, 1948, the Republic of Korea (South Korea) was formed (South Korea Profile, 2014). Shortly after, on June 25, 1950, the Korean War erupted due to the invasion of South Korea by North Korean troops. United Nations troops, predominately the United States, intervened to help the South Koreans, however, China intervened by sending Chinese troops to help the North Koreans.
The Germanic invaders finally ousted the last roman empire by 476 AD. The end of the Roman Empire finally happened. In conclusion, The three Major causes of the the Fall of Rome were Economic Problems, Socico-Politcal problems, and external invasions The Roman Empire finally fell in 476 AD.
