PAT #2 Pre-Reading Tunes for Bears to Dance to by Robert Cormier When I initially looked at the title I immediately thought of “Goldilocks and the three bears.” I associated the word bears with another story that I knew which was about bears. When analyzing the outside of the book I kept thinking that this book is going to be like “Goldilocks and the three bears.” So after analyzing the front page, I thought the picture on the front page was displaying a hammer hitting a wooden object.
The Confederacy battled with a Celtic style. The Celtics were lined up all in one line to defend themselves. They literally made a human wall. The Importance of Storytelling in Cherokee Culture The Cherokee people, like all Native American tribes, possess an extensive, ancient oral history. Before European contact and the creation of the Cherokee syllabary, the only way the Cherokees could pass on the legends within their history was by word of mouth or in other words through storytelling. Their stories included justifications for the origin of Earth and mankind, good human morals and values, and Cherokee culture rituals. Diane Glancy, author of Pushing The Bear, does a great job in conveying the importance of storytelling in Cherokee culture.
The book Ghost of Spirit Bear is a sequel to the book Touching Spirit Bear. I enjoyed this book because it has a good story and plot. While this book is not as adventurous or moving as the first book Ghost of Spirit Bear still has a good plot and creates vivid pictures in your mind while reading. I prefered Touching Spirit Bear over this book because it has more adventure and a more shocking story. The book consists mainly of the same characters but more were added when Peter and Cole go to school.
The Hunt It was a gloomy September day and the bear hunting season was about to begin. My family had an 80 acre lot that we used strictly for hunting. My mom volunteered to sit in the stand with me and videotape the hunt.
