Michael Norlen’s life was being controlled by “The Beast.” “The Beast” is referring to his battle with depression. Norlen had a job as a lawyer supporting his wife and two kids. One day something changed. Norlen stopped going to his appointments, stopped answering his phone, and stopped reading his messages. Eventually Norlen stopped going to work altogether. He then started to sleep for sixteen hours a day and had trouble eating. He began to have thoughts of suicide. Norlen knew that his depression had returned. He was prescribed drug after drug as his anti-depressants stopped working. Norlen knew that everyone dealt with depression differently. He knew that he had to do something physical to get himself out of that state of mind. He felt
