The Beatles Throughout The 1960s
The Beatles were the change that the music industry had needed. This band sang their way through the 1960s and made on impact on the decade. Going from a small group singing in small clubs, to a name everyone knew and selling millions of singles. These 4 boys were a major part of this time in the world, they were so big they are still being talked about today.
The 1960s was a big decade for The Beatles, but they started out as a band a few years before that. When the Beatles name started getting around more it was a very depressing time for people, so their music was there giving people things to look forward to (Putten). Paul had figured out that multiple artists would repeat what they did with their first successful single to continue to have singles that gave them success, but Paul and the band wanted to stray from this and be different (Putten). With the Beatles being different than the artists around at the time, everyone was paying attention to this new mix of many music genres. If it wasn’t for Brian Upstein discovering the 4 boys while playing in the Cavern Club then the band would not have made it far in their career (Putten). When Upstein first saw the boys they would wear jackets and jeans and were limited to rock and roll, because of him, they stopped smoking on stage, started wearing their signature suits, and had them do their synchronized bow on stage at the end of a performance (Putten). The boys owe their thanks to Brian for most of their success, he gave them their image. The Beatles were huge, and the way they became that big was quite an exciting
