I ‘m one those people fortunate enough to be able to take classes right outside my own neighborhood at the local High school. GRCC has many evening class you can take there, and it’s nice to only have to drive 2 minutes to class. I also believe that the education is very well structured at GRCC just like many of the Universities around the area. GRCC has just as many facilities for the students to use as most Universities have. Community colleges provide an excellent opportunity for student, who don’t have the money for a university, or are simple not ready to take on the whole university
When one graduate’s college it is usually one of the happiest days of their lives, they finally get to quit their low paying job and get a job that is much higher paying and hopefully a job they enjoy. However most of the time these newly college grads do not get to go buy a new car, or a house, or whatever else their heart desires instead; they have to spend about the next 20 years paying off their student loans. But what if there was another way, so that these newly grads do not have to spend 20 years paying off loans? Well maybe there is because in January of 2015 President Barrack Obama proposed the idea of free community college. This sounds great does it not?
The trend of going to community colleges is beginning. Community colleges used to be known as the place where all the rejected applicants went. Now, people are realizing that community colleges are just as great as a university. Liz Addison wrote “Two Years Are Better than Four” to help her readers understand the importance of community colleges. The educational path for a student is changing from going straight to a big university to going to a community college and then transferring.
The reason I want to go to college is to help me prepare for my future career. College will help me to further my education so I can excel in the career of my choice; and I believe that UW Oshkosh will be able to help me accomplish this goal. UW Oshkosh will be able to provide me with a degree so I will be able to get a job that I enjoy in a career field that I like.
If I had to pay full cost of college for 7 years it would be very hard and very stressful. Community college is giving me the opportunity to attend my first 2 years of college for free because of the new scholarships. And if I didn’t have a scholarship the price difference between a community college and a university is a big difference. Should students go to a community college? Many people ask that question, such as parents. Many students just want a job and not to stay at school for four years, or they don't have a lot money to go to college. And there are people who are just the opposite. Whoever it is, community college is an option for some student.
There are so many colleges that I would have attended. Community College is a two-year college. A community college is basically the introduction of a four-year college. I picked this college over a four-year college because, I was not ready to attend a real college and, this college can help me prepare to the future college. There are three main reasons that I chose a community college over a larger college.
There are many controversial topics regarding community colleges. One of the more strongly debated topics includes whether or not community colleges should be tuition-free for state residents. That being said, there are many consequences to altering community colleges in a way that removes the revenue of student tuition fees. One of those consequences may end up impacting all of the citizens of the state that has free tuition. With all of the potential drawbacks that come with free community college, this concept should not be implemented in the real world.

Even if the do want to go to college they cannot because they can’t afford to do so, so instead they try to take on low paying jobs. By making community college free not only does it help reduce student loans, it can greatly improve the unemployment rate, improve education. Not only that but it also can bring people out of poverty and even give rise to an educated workforce(Rehm).
When college searching, most prospective students dream of attending a large, beautiful campus; they do not take into consideration how much money their dream school cost. This simple mistakes leads to thousands of adults drowning in college loans years after earning their degree. Attending a community college easily solves the problem by helping students who want to reach their goal of earning a degree without the outrageous cost of universities. Junior colleges are more economical than universities because they are more convenient, less expensive, and less demanding.
I hope to bring new perspectives to classroom discussions, while also learning from others. I will also take part in many campus activities, one being student government. Student government will allow me to get involved on campus, make a difference in the community, develop leadership skills, and enhance my college experience. I also plan on joining a sorority and participating in club sports. I am excited to graduate from high school in the spring and begin my future.
Picking to attend a Community college for me is the best choice that I picked for my education. Community colleges provide a great service to students in many more ways other than just education. They help students who are unsure what they want to do or are unable to attend a four year university. Community Colleges also provide continuing education even after they have gotten a degree and a job.
