Edgar Allan Poe was an extremely prodigious and ingenious writer of both poetry and prose.Throughout the history of his works, Poe has taken numerous different approaches to the pictures and ideas that he intended to convey through each and every one. Namely, The Cask of Amontillado is a story that involves crime and deceit and the point of view of the criminal. Through The Cask of Amontillado, Edgar Allan Poe once again effectively displays himself as a groundbreaking artist through the world of prose by showing a story through the perspective of the murderer, thereby giving readers a view on those who are depicted as morally evil.
