In 2016, Los Angeles County saw an increase in homeless people by 5.7% from 2015, according to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority. Unless something is done about this, the number of homeless people will only continue to keep growing. It is time to stop this pattern.
Because of gentrification and other economic factors, it is becoming more difficult for low-income and working class people to find affordable housing. The lack of affordable housing is one of the many causes of homelessness and also prevents homeless people from improving their situation.
