Drunk driving, also known as driving under the influence of alcohol or other drugs, is a serious problem that continuous to take thousands of deaths each year. Too many lives have been lost due to drunk driving. It is estimated that more than 10,000 young people in the United States are killed and 40,000 are injured in car accidents when alcohol involved. [1] Every two minutes, someone is injured because of this entirely preventable crime. [2] A death from drunk driving does not only affect the victim but it affects everyone around them such as family and friends. Drunk driving is not something that happens occasionally, it happens every day of the year. And most of the tomes the victims are not the ones who are drinking, they could be driving or walking from work to home one day and was hit by someone who is driving after drinking. This essay intends to discuss the phenomena of drunk driving and the problems go with it. Its main focus will be the practical solutions to it. A number of solutions will be proposed and evaluated.
